The Goldeneye Cycling Country Lanes series provides clear, easy to use and easy to follow cycling maps which Illustrates: a) Commissioned circular routes in purple. b) Traffic-Free Family Cycling Trails (e.g. The Granite Way, Camel Trail, High Peak Trails), and c) The National Cycle Network routes (e.g. NCN27, NCN1 etc). The North Yorks Moors National Park occupies a region of elevated rolling moorland, forming a steep escarpment on the north and west, and a rugged indented coastline to the east. To the south, the ground slopes more gently towards the Vales of Mowbray and Pickering. Each of the individual Dales has its own characteristics; from scenic Rydale to lonely Bransdale. Much of the cycling is over rolling hills on lanes connecting picturesque villages. The Vale of Pickering makes for a less strenuous ride with quiet flat lanes running through a pastoral landscape.
